In designing for Gucci, I always love to make some sort of stylistic marriage between past, present, and future, because this brand has a huge history. There’s 90 years of tradition and ideas about excellence and expertise in luxury goods and craftsmanship that have been handed down over generations. We still have some suppliers working with us today who are the sons and daughters of the old suppliers who used to work for the original Gucci family at the beginning of the last century. So it’s nice to always create this balance between what has been done in the past and what you want to do in the future. (via)

As far back as I can remember I have loved the style of cartoons with that retro flare. Recently delving back into the whacky world of my favorite show, Ren & Stimpy, I rediscovered a titalizing animation style called “Cartoon Retro”. Which was also created by Shane Glines (An animator for Spumco). Infused with elements of the 30’s-40’s era, exaggerated proportions, and eye catching details. In some cases the artwork flows over into a catergory of erotisism. I enjoy the pin-up aspect of the women he draws. I am inspired to say the least and am most definatly getting a tattoo of Ren & Stimpy in the near future!
Anytime I see a retro chick duo I think of my Miss Mandible! Between Seattle and Portland my model/BFF and I have the most rowdy time together! Here are some ideas for our upcoming photoshoots.
this explains so much of who and how I am. besides I’ve always wanted to tattoo the palms of my hands.
